BREWERY

CrossRoads represents the points at which critical decisions are made. It also represents Prince George as the geographic centre of the province, highlighted by the convergence of the Nechako and Fraser rivers, the intersection of highways 16 and 97, and the crossing of the railway.

The brewery is located in a 70 year-old historic building in downtown Prince George. Originally built as a garage and car dealership in 1946, the building housed a number of businesses before sitting empty for many years. The brewery owners saw the building’s unique potential. They purchased it and undertook extensive renovations, making it an anchor business in a revitalizing downtown area. The manufacturing facility features the original brewhouse and tanks from Central City Brewing, which at its peak, made 8,000 hectolitres annually of World Beer Cup winning beer.

OUR STORY

Unsurprisingly like many good things, it started over a few beers.

Daryl and Bjorn met in early 2015 when they connected about their shared interest in craft beer, their community and the potential of a local craft brewery. Daryl wanted to open a brewery for over 20 years, while Bjorn had just organized the community’s first craft beer festival. They spent evenings and weekends exploring what it would take, visiting craft breweries, and attending craft beer festivals and conferences. They believed Prince George was ready and set out to create a unique place in the downtown that the community could embrace. CrossRoads was born.

HEAD BREWER

Patrick Moore

patrick@crossroadscraft.com

Born and raised in North Vancouver, Patrick has come north after an established career at a number of BC craft breweries and pubs. For Patrick joining CrossRoads is about getting back to small batch brewing after leading brewing teams at two of BC’s established craft breweries. Patrick is excited to be at the ground level of the first craft brewery in Prince George, and developing recipes that connect with those new to craft beer as well as long-time craft beer drinkers.
